This weekend Cameron and Greg went on Cameron's first Cub Scout campout. We overpacked, but we carried everything in on our backpacks. The Cubs made dinner over the hot coals of the fire, coordinated by Den leaders Kelly Brillhart and Gary Lohmeier. And no campout would be complete without really dumb ghost stories around the campfire.
Cameron was a game camper, whittling like mad and satisfying a big chunk of his Weblos requirements.
Greg, who hasn't been camping since he was 17, fell in love with the smoke, the incredible number of stars and the errant coyotes. He's going back soon—with or without the boy... |
